These gains were only 800 new truck transportation jobs. The information from the report indicates that the hiring spree in the trucking industry appears to be slowing down.

2) Citigroup Issues Warning on Overall Freight Trends in Q4

Citigroup remains cautious regarding transportation trends for the remainder of the year in North America. Analysts are warning that the peak truckload freight isn't materializing while the pace of imports is also slowing down.

Numerous assessments indicate that the pace of freight activity and other upcoming data points are most likely to skew negative during peak season.

A lack of improvement in truckload rates is also a major concern for the rest of the year.

3) U.S. Supply Chain Continues to Face Stability Obstacles

Negotiations between labor unions remain inconclusive between the Central Association of German Seaport Operators (ZDS) and the trade union Verdi. Additional strikes are most likely to occur if no agreement is reached.

Some manufacturers are also shutting down operations in China due to high temperatures. Covid testing requirements throughout the country are also slowing down trucking operations.
